Few people manage to rack up as many Voyager Miles each month as Maps Maponyane, our editor-at-large. His flight to Las Vegas in August was his 84th of the year! He shares some of his mobile images documenting his recent travels.

Another shot by Dave Krugman. Here I’m wearing a shirt by one of my favourite fashion labels, Nkanda Yatu from Zambia. I always like to ensure that when I’m travelling internationally, people’s impressions of me (especially at important functions) are that of a strong African rooting or representation.
3. The Acropolis

The Top Billing crew was in Athens to cover our Olympic swimming champ Cameron van der Burgh and his partner Nefeli Valakelis’ wedding. I woke up in Athens with a view of the Acropolis. As a dreamer and a bit of a Greek mythology geek, I could not stop pinching myself over the next week.

My flight into Las Vegas was my 84th of the year. That’s me staring out of my hotel window thinking: “Damn, there’s a looong way to go, but life has really been good to me. No matter how many things may not go my way, or how much rejection I may get, I literally have nothing to complain about. I’m healthy, I get to do things I’ve always dreamt of and I get to wake up every day excited for all that is yet to unfold.”

This is the Standard Hotel High Line where I was staying. Art is a big love of mine and every time I go to New York, I make sure I visit the Whitney Museum of American Art – I’ve always enjoyed the curated exhibitions there. The pic was taken from the rooftop of the Whitney.
6. Landing in Korea

Welcome to South Korea! It was a long 24-hour journey to get here, but I’d been wanting to go for a very long time. I’m a brand ambassador for Samsung Mobile and I was in their hometown for some promotional work. I’ve got to say that Koreans make some amazing food… the kalbi (traditional barbecued beef short rib), truffle mushroom soup and green tea cake with vanilla sauce were all among the best food I’ve ever tasted.
7. Athens selfie

This selfie was taken from the city’s highest point called Lykavittos Hill. You can either walk or take a cable car. When you reach the summit, you’re spoilt with the most breathtaking views of Athens. There’s also a popular restaurant up there, as well as a chapel.
