A beloved attraction

Kruger Station, a beloved top attraction within the Kruger National Park, has a rich history and captivating stories. Home to the legendary steam locomotive No. 3638, affectionately known as ‘Skukuza,’ it showcases the last train that travelled through the park. Step back in time as you discover these meticulously refurbished carriages. Of particular interest is the lounge carriage, numbered 7, which has a fascinating journey.

Initially serving as a suburban coach in 1942, it was later transformed into a funeral coach, transporting the remains of notable figures. In 1950, it carried the last remains of General J. C. Smuts, and in 1967, it played a vital role in the State Funeral of the Hon. J. G. Strydom. Embrace this opportunity to witness living history firsthand and immerse yourself in the nostalgic ambience of Kruger Station.

Beyond the remarkable culinary experiences, Kruger Station offers many activities to enjoy. Indulge in a family-friendly dining experience at the 3638 Restaurant, where our talented culinary team will delight your taste buds. Why not try unique creations such as Kudu Bobotie, Warthog Pizza, and Crocodile Schnitzel –a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity?
