Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: A Multimodal Maestro

Date:

When I first got my hands on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, I expected the usual: incredible camera quality, powerful performance, and a beautiful display. What I didn’t expect was how the phone would quietly change the way I interact with the world around me, thanks largely to one standout feature: Multimodal Search.

The feature I didn’t know I needed

Multimodal Search is one of those features that you don’t fully appreciate until you experience it. It combines what’s on your screen—images, text, or even a scene in a video—with Samsung’s advanced AI to give you intelligent, real-time information and suggested actions.

But what really amazed me was how it worked in the real world.

Gemini + Galaxy = The ultimate travel planner

Forget clunky, keyword-based searches. With the S25, I can simply ask Gemini what I need. Looking for a family friendly lodge in the Kruger National Park?  No problem. I can verbally describe my request or even show Gemini a picture of a specific type of lodge I have in mind. The results are incredibly accurate and presented in a visually appealing, easily digestible format. It’s made planning spontaneous weekend trips so much easier.

This multimodal approach extends beyond just finding information; it’s about initiating actions. My personal experience with Gemini’s holiday planning capabilities has been nothing short of revolutionary.

Instead of spending hours trawling through websites, I simply tell Gemini, “Plan a 7-day trip to the Kruger National Park in October for two families of 4 with children under 7-years-old”. Gemini then presents me with a curated itinerary, including flights, suggested lodges, and even activities based on my preferences. I can then refine this itinerary with voice commands or by directly manipulating the presented information on the screen – adjusting dates, swapping accommodation, or adding activities.

The entire process is intuitive and incredibly efficient. I recently used this feature to start the process of planning a family trip with a friend, and the seamless integration of flight booking and hotel reservations directly within the Gemini interface saved me countless hours of frustration.

Seamless Actions Across Apps

Another standout has been the Seamless Actions Across Apps feature which shines when it comes to simplifying tasks. I’ve used it to:

  • Identify and shop for home decor items from Instagram stories without opening another app.
  • Find background info on places I see in travel vlogs without typing a thing.
  • Start multi-step actions like booking a table, mapping directions, and messaging a friend all from one search query.

With Samsung’s Seamless Actions Across Apps, you no longer have to bounce between apps or repeat tasks. A simple, natural-language prompt like “Find three family friendly lodges in the Kruger National Park and send them to Anna” actually works and works well. The S25 Ultra pulls it all together without me lifting a finger across apps. It’s like having an assistant that already knows what you need and just makes it happen.

Music Search: Find the beat instantly

Another feature I didn’t expect to love as much as I do is Music Search. I’m constantly hearing songs I love, whether it’s during a dinner out, in a shop, or while watching a story and now I can just activate Music Search, and it finds the track instantly.

Everyday efficiency, elevated

The Galaxy S25 Ultra isn’t just a step forward, it’s a leap into a smarter, more intuitive digital experience. What makes these features even more impressive is how effortless they are. There’s no steep learning curve, no clunky interface, it just blends into your everyday use.

Combined with the S25 Ultra’s beautiful screen, lightweight design, and those signature smooth rounded edges, it makes for a device that feels futuristic but grounded in real-world practicality. If you’re looking for a phone that genuinely enhances the way you live, explore, and connect, this is it. Samsung isn’t just keeping up with the future, it’s building it.
