I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the stylish Huawei Watch GT with extended battery life, plus there are more things for you to pack on your next trip: the new Apple AirPods, the Day 2 laundry-on-the-go solution, and a fantastic pop-culture podcast.

I also tried the new Kauai app that could make your next road-trip more convenient.

I’m sneaking this amazing product on this list. The Day 2 Dry Wash Spray is a laundry-on-the-go solution; a traveller must-have.

It uses 0.02% water of a regular load, but it is an anti-odour, crease remover and softener in one. Laundry gets done in 15 minutes. Available in 75ml for your hand luggage.

Techie Taiwan

I am going to let you in on a secret. If you are a tech junkie like myself, a visit to Taipei is highly recommended.

Sure, you are probably going to go for the amazing dim sum, majestic temples, breath-taking views from the Taipei 101, or maybe a day trip to Jiufen.

There are loads to see and eat, but what I am specifically referring to, is the Guang Hua Digital Plaza, located between the Zhongzheng and Daan Districts.

It is a six-storey building dedicated to electronic goods and gadgets at prices you will not see in South Africa. Of course, it comes with the advantage of tech products being manufactured in the country.

My fondest memory was spending hours trawling through the plaza to find bargains and coming out with loads of film for my instant camera.

Unheard of, but I only realised hours later that the building had free Wi-Fi, which I clearly didn’t need.

Interestingly, the internet and social media are open and accessible, so no need for technical trickery with a VPN as you would in China.
