Johannesburg In Your Pocket’s ticketed city experiences are returning for winter, with two exciting Joburg adventures now open for booking.
These experiences are part of Johannesburg In Your Pocket’s new offering launched in October 2021. Working together with Kennedy Tembo’s MicroAdventure Tours, the open-top City Sightseeing bus, boutique brands, small businesses and special city venues, the leading local publisher curates original city explorations and experiences aimed at locals who would like to get to know their city better.
Coming up in winter are two more experiences co-hosted with MicroAdventure Tours in collaboration with the City Sightseeing open-top red bus.

All experiences start and end at the City Sightseeing bus stop in Rosebank.
Joburg Iconic Views Experience
Starting in Rosebank at the City Sightseeing red bus stop at 14:30 for a 15:00 departure, the Iconic Views Experience begins with a tour through the historic Saxonwold and Houghton suburbs to the first stop, Munro Drive, where fantastic views and a glass of the finest chilled South African MCC await.
The next stop on the adventure is for a tour of the beautiful Randlords mansion Northwards in Parktown. Built in 1902 and designed by the famous architect Herbert Baker, this grand mansion is famous for its views northwards over the treed suburbs of Joburg.
Finally, from one of Joburg’s most historic homes, it’s off to one of its most enduring contemporary landmarks, the iconic Ponte tower. The visit to Ponte includes a tour of this unique building led by Dlala Nje, a NPO who also operate a community centre in the building. The adventure ends with up on the 51st floor of Ponte with drinks and delicious food catered by Emzini, all while enjoying the most glorious views of the city by night.
The bus will return to Rosebank by 19:00.

Joburg Sunset Rooftops Experience
The Joburg Sunset Rooftops Experience returns for a third edition. Starting out in Rosebank, the first stop is for a signature glass of bubbly with a view at the top of Munro Drive in Houghton, before heading over to Braamfontein for cocktails on a sky-high rooftop.
From here the bus then takes a scenic sunset tour around the city to the final stop, the chic rooftop bar at Hallmark House where drinks, canapes and one of Joburg’s best rooftop views await. The bus then heads back to Rosebank for a 19:00 finish.
