Swellendam is set to host South Africa’s premier gravel cycling event this July. The B-well Around the Pot, presented by SEESA has quickly become a staple on the cycling calendar and promises an exhilarating and demanding ride for cyclists of all abilities.
The B-well Around the Pot is also now an official seeding event for the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour, with the 200-, 100- and 60-miler options counting towards improving participants’ start times at next year’s Cycle Tour.
Catering to riders of varying levels, the event offers four distances: a beginner-friendly 25-miler route and more challenging 60-miler, 100-miler, and 200-miler routes. Cyclists will traverse some of the Overberg’s most stunning landscapes, including blooming canola fields and the majestic Breede River.
But it’s not just about the ride. Cyclists can expect well-stocked water points, delicious snacks such as roosterkoek, and a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, stalls offering cycling gear and accessories will be available, providing ample opportunities for socialising and relaxation.
“Encouraging people to lead healthy lives is a fundamental part of B-well’s ethos. By sponsoring this event, we’re not just supporting cycling; we’re promoting a lifestyle that celebrates fitness and adventure in one of South Africa’s most beautiful corners,” Stephen Geldenhuys, Marketing Manager at Southern Oil.
Entries are now open, with spaces filling up rapidly and cyclists aged 18 and above can sign up on the official B-well Around the Pot website. And if you’re feeling lucky, head on over to the B-well Facebook page to enter a competition with two double race entries up for grabs – click here to visit the page directly: https://fb.me/e/3suFhZ2rK
