Sawubona November/December 2025 now available

Date:

The festive season is upon us and there’s lots to celebrate in the November/December issue of Sawubona.

For starters, we announce the expansion of our regional network with the launch of two exciting new routes:

Johannesburg to Gaborone, Botswana: Beginning 4 November 2025, SAA will operate a twice-daily service between Johannesburg and Gaborone. This route enhances regional connectivity, opening the tourism market of Botswana to the world, and strengthening the cultural and economic ties between South Africa and Botswana.

Cape Town to Mauritius: In addition to our popular flights from Johannesburg to Mauritius, SAA is pleased to add to the cheers of the festive season news of the introduction of direct flights between Cape Town and Mauritius. This new route joins two of the most sought-after holiday destinations in our region whilst providing seamless access for business travellers from the Western Cape.

Next, what does grunting hippos, a suspended pool, and a train on a bridge have in common? You’ll all find them at Kruger Shalati, the Train on the Bridge luxury hotel in Skukuza, Kruger National Park.

We spend three nights suspended above the Sabie River and we’re reminded how extraordinary South Africa can be.

Looking for something for the whole family? We provide a round-up of exciting activities, family-friendly events, and top-notch self-catering spots in South Africa for an unforgettable summer vacation.

And if you haven’t heard, The Lounge recently unveiled its newly refurbished domestic departures lounge at Cape Town International Airport, for an enhanced passenger experience.

You’ll also be able to read more about why Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club carry the pride, spirit and dreams of South Africa whenever they step onto a football pitch.

Finally, don’t miss out on our Holiday 2025 Gift Guide filled with gift ideas that are quirky, practical, or luxurious. Your pick!
